The Vacevoli vineyard is positioned directly above the winery, divided into three plots, one of which is co-planted with Viognier and Vermentino and one entirely with Viognier. The exposure is southwest and the soils are composed of compacted calcareous sands interspersed with bands of alluvial pebble residues. Petit Manseng from a vineyard located at higher altitude called Le Mostricce is added to the blend; it is on soils rich in blue marls as the grape variety prefers.
The three grapes, harvested at full maturity, contribute to the blend differently each year, seeking balance in the interpretation of the vintage and the greatest possible longevity. The use of international grape varieties contrasts with tradition to highlight not so much the terroir but the “know-how” of the people and thus becomes an additional study tool for the territory.
